Is Plex.tv (the main site) down?

I cannot connect it. I get Page Isn’t working in Chrome and my server is showing up offline.

I’m getting a 503 error as well

status.plex.tv shows the app.plex.tv has a major outage. Likely what’s affecting my server and others from connecting.

We’re tracking an issue with plex.tv (not www.plex.tv) and the API server. The team is investigating.

Is there not an offline mode? Or when plex is down you just can’t watch your media anymore until they fix it?

This is getting ridiculous. Plex needs to give back local authentication since they have been having so many issues with being down.

I know, You would think your local onsite premise media server could at minimum let you watch your own media locally without the need to communicate with the mother ship, which makes you at the mercy of both the remote Plex corporate servers and your local internet service provider…

Well if my server doesn’t authenticate with the Plex server how am I going to access it with my Plex apps?

I am having no problem with Plex.TV or accessing my servers. I wonder if this is somehow region specific.

Cloud Sync seems to be offline in my case.

PMS says not available outside your network but i’m currently streaming from my phone

Any ETA on when things will be back or do i have to stare at https://status.plex.tv/ for the next hour or so?

That just loads a grayed out page that you cannot log into.

Plex is not reachable.
Make sure your server has an internet connection and any firewalls or other programs are set to allow access.

What apps? I want to watch it locally at my house. You know, what all media centers should be able to do. Play media locally. Apparently I cannot even watch my media locally when their servers go down. That’s ridiculous. So now I cannot watch any movies or TV shows until this is resolved from my media center sitting in my room.

Since you guys cut access to my local media during these outages, do I get refunded my monthly plex pass charge?

@fdasjf234342 Sorry did not realize that I’m running my plex server on ubuntu server and I can still access it by clicking on plex media manager software, what OS are you running your server on do you have a plex media manager software, but I can only access my own user

It’s weird…everything seems to be working fine for me (accessing my content both remotely and locally). The only reason I noticed that there was a problem was that my managed user accounts (wife and kids) are not showing up.

@fdasjf234342 also from the plex media manager software which opens as localhost:32400 I can cast to my android tv and nvidia shield so a temporary solution at least for me

big bowel of nope.

Seems to be working for me now.

I miss the days when Plex just freaking worked. It is my sincere hope that a real competitor comes along and takes my money. This is just ridiculous at this point.
