I used to be able to record OTA TV. Is something wrong with my setup or is it the Server.
It was suggested that version 1.40.5.8921 worked better so I installed that version. I set Plex to record 4 programs one after the other and all 4 recorded fine. However, I set Plex up to record 2 programs that evening and it did not record either one. I had 2 tuners, WinTV HVR-950 BDA and WinTV-dualHD tuner. So I removed the WinTV HVR-950 BDA Tuner yesterday and just used the WinTV-dualHD tuner. I am not sure if I should use both tuners. I had the 950 tuner for the WinTV8 programs. I asked Hauppauge if I could use both tuners, but I haven’t gotten a response yet. I just do not understand why I am having this problem. I was using both tuners with Plex and was getting recordings ok for quite a while. Now I am lucky to get a recording.
I set Plex to record 3 programs one after another. When the first program was supposed to be recording, I opened Plex to check what was going on. My first program is not recording and it says to check tuner or antenna. I am already watching the show on another TV, not using this tuner or computer. The show is coming in just fine. I went to Live TV and DVR, and it showed 2 green lights. The tuner is ready. It is like it never got the signal from Plex to turn the tuner on and record. The second program recording did not start. I looked at the tuner and it had 2 green lights. I went to DVR Schedule and went to that recording and modified the recording. That made it start to record but it just stopped. I opened WinTV and went to that channel and it came in just fine, something is not working with Plex, must not be letting the tuner record.
The third program was set to record in Plex, and I also had the WinTV app record the same program and put it in the movie folder. Plex would not record, but WinTV did, and I could watch it. I am still not sure why Plex would not record and WinTV would record. The signal was good, and it recorded well with WinTV. What settings could I have set wrong that are not letting Plex record the programs I have it set to?
I again tried to record last night, I was doing 3 program recordings, 3 on CBS 7,8, and 9 o’clock. I had one program on NBC at 8 o’clock. I made sure I had the server version 1.40.5.8921 installed. I looked at 7 when it was supposed to start, and looked, and it said it was recording. Then it just quit, I was looking at the tuner and it had 2 green lights. The tuner never turned to red.
Since it did not start, I installed the newest Version 1.41.4.9463. Plex was still set to record so I also set WinTV to record the 8 PM program. WinTV did record and Plex recorded, but it did not start at the beginning. At 9 PM Plex said it was recording, however, it never even started, I found a 9 AM, that Plex said it was still recording, the 9 PM. The only way I could get it to stop was to reboot the computer. Plex was working fine before, now I cannot depend on Plex to record anything I want it to.
