See subject. Specific example: have a managed user that is only able to view G-rated movies and TV shows up to TV-Y. There are, however, specific movies that are rated PG that I’d like to be able to give the managed user access to without giving them access to ALL PG-rated movies.
Is there a way to pick and choose what can be shared? Thank you!
create a sharing label, let’s call it ‘family’
assign those movies this sharing label (by ‘editing’ them)
add ‘family’ to this user’s sharing label
Personally, I didn’t want to get into labels, seemed like a lot of work and something you need to keep on top of or it quickly degrades into something that isn’t useful.
I have a different solution to this same problem:
I created two different libraries for both TV and Movies. My wife and I have access to all 4 of the libraries, but my son (6-years) only has access to the “Movies-Kids” and “TV-Kids” libraries.
Anything that we feel is OK for him to watch goes into the Kids library, otherwise it goes into ours. In the user settings, you can restrict access to which libraries they have access.
Doesn’t affect the adult viewing, since the “Discover” home screen and performing searches show us everything within both sets of libraries.
Once our 2-year old is a little older, I’m thinking of doing the same thing, but name the libraries “Movies-Son1” and “Movies-Son2”. Older son will have access to both libraries, and the adults will have all 3.
I like this method because I don’t need to deal with labels, just bulk drag and drop movies between folders on the file server and you’re done.

i have setup different folders/libraries and allocated them, Kids, Films and TV Shows.
I gave my oldest son (9yr) access to Kids only, but there are some movies like Star Wars, that I want him to be able to sync, however StarWars is in Films. Any way of being able to give him access without creating more folders and having duplicate files. Plus I don’t want to put the likes of Star Wars into Kids, for then my youngest (4) to have access to it as well.
I have tried using the Sync Tab, but it just states, waiting to be downloaded, but I can not see it, on his ipad
