Is there a way to turn off email notifications of login?

Every time a user logs into the plex server I get an email saying that they logged in. Currently, I am the only user, so I know I have logged in. Is there a setting to turn off email notifications? I do not have push notifications active in the Settings>General. Thank you.

I think that is a newish security thing, so you can see if someone else logs in that is not YOU.

That’s not how it is working. I am the only one logging in and I get emails whenever I log in. I would like to disable this, I get enough emails. Thank you.

I have not seen anyway to disable it.

The point is, it is to help you identify if someone guesses your email/password.

If you don’t like it, make a rule to send it to trash and you won’t see it.

If every time when your browser closes it clears cookies, website data and such it will be treated as a new device being signed into.

There is no way to turn those off at this time.

OK, that’s all I wanted to know.

(However, I would note that I just bought the Lifetime Plex Pass and am getting more inconvenience. That’s not how upgrades should work. )

I would not expect this to be related to plex pass, its a general account security measure and for your benefit, even if you consider it annoying.

The emails are a security measure for all accounts.

These emails are the definition of spam.
Forced upon you with no way to switch them off. Pretty ridiculous.
Please either stop this spam globally, across all accounts, or add the ability for individual users to disable these emails.

I totally agree.
And I receive email almost every time (let’s Say 7 times out of 10) I connect with the SAME client. It seems the server does not recognize the smart TV Is Always the same.
This is not security, why does this happens?
The email reports that “a new device logged in
” but deviced are not new at all, they have already been approved multiple times

Would be if it wasn’t detecting old devices as new all the time. From the same IP nevertheless.
Another feature poorly implemented, just for ticking another checkbox.

Same problem here on Samsung TV or Plex website.
Always a “new” device has logged in.
Can’t find how to tell Plex the device is ok or turn off the email notification.

Same here with my Samsung TV !! this is starting to be very irritating .

Please, developers, provide us with an opt-out or a working list of “trusted” devices. My Samsung TV also causes such emails on every single login. Regardless the fact that it is not “new”.

We should move this topic to the reported bugs topic because Plex accidentally misinterprets known devices as “new”.

I’m guessing these emails happen because IPs change, which is normal and happens often. That means I have been trained to ignore all these emails. If access to my Plex happened from somewhere that was an actual problem, I would ignore the email because you have spammed. Therefore all these emails are useless noise that only serve to annoy your customers.

Totally agree, these emails are spam. I now have a rule on my email to delete them so even if someone did log in as me I wouldn’t know because the number of emails I receive is stupid. I get an email every time I open Plex on my Samsung TV and the IP Address never changes so why oh why is it shown as a ‘New’ device :disappointed:

Every time I turn on my PC and rclone access Plex it shows it as a new device and emails me. Very annoying indeed.

Anything that keeps me informed about someone accessing any of my accounts is welcomed. I’d prefer mfa as a security measure over an email whenever someone logs in as me, but I’ll take what little I can at this point.
