New to Plex so, and I’m not a well versed user, at all. I’ve been collecting movies, music and tv series as files for a while. I’m using and enjoying plex specifically to just share out my own movies/tv shows/music to myself and parents via my 12tb cloud drive. I’ve always just relied on portable hard drives and usb sticks but, this Plex service running on my drive and being able to stream things out to my phone or other tvs elsewhere is amazing and so glad it exists.
Here’s my issue though: I’ve always relied on naming the files how I prefer and relying on windows to alpha-numerically list the files in order and I scroll through to select what I’m looking for. Maybe its a beginner hurdle or something I’m doing wrong but, I’m not liking how Plex lists my collection. It does not pay attention to file names AND for some reason even seems to be hiding some files (shows) that should be there. I’ve tried switching between library view and folder view and most of the files/movies are there but, I really wish there was a way to just list the file names in alpha-numeric order by the filename… AND similarly, to search my own collection by filename. is there a way to do this? or, am I just going to have to get used to the way Plex displays and tries to categorize my stuff? (still wont help me find a few specific tv show files I have that are missing in the plex system… I know the files are on my drive and I even find the folder and one of the shows but, there’s like 9 more that aren’t showing).
