Is there an issue with Plex on Android 12?

I recently got a new phone running Android 12 that won’t play anything in Plex when using mobile data. I can see everything on continue watching and in my libraries just none of the images load but when you try to play anything I just get Something Went Wrong.

Now if I put that sim card into my old phone running Android 9 I can play anything using mobile data and the images for things in my library load as normal.

Playing things over WiFi is not affected at all.

I can provide logs, just tell is there anything I should be doing when getting them.

Make & model?

I’ve no problems with my Pixel 3A XL. However, sometimes device specific issues arise. Knowing make/model will help with problem replication & diagnosis.

A set of android logs that capture the problem would help as well.

  1. Put the phone on the mobile network.
  2. Launch the Plex app & re-create the problem.
  3. Re-enable wifi
  4. Pull the device log file, http://device_ip_address:32500 (settings → help & support → debugging)
  5. Save as a .txt or .log and post to the thread.

Out of curiosity, who is your mobile provider? I’m having the same issue and I’m on T-Mobile.

Figured it out. New phone didn’t have mobile providers APN settings. Once added works just fine.
