Issue with Chefs Table - rename detected - unable to add season 08 completely

When adding S01 to Chef’s Table on scan this appears in the log:

And Ep5 and Ep6 disappear from Season 8 from plex but are still there on the disks.

Not adding S01 makes Season 8 appear complete.
Plex dance did not help. Removing S01 and rescanning makes S08 complete again

Netflix has this split off as separate TV listings, TMDB has done the same which is why you could be running into issues.

Watch Chef's Table: BBQ | Netflix Official Site → Chef's Table: BBQ (TV Series 2020- ) — The Movie Database (TMDB)
Watch Chef's Table: Pizza | Netflix Official Site → Chef's Table: Pizza (TV Series 2022- ) — The Movie Database (TMDB)

Season 07 and Season 08 of that show maps to the BBQ and Pizza listings from what I can see.

I don’t have the show myself but you could rename to match tmdb listing or adjust the episode ordering to tvdb episode Chef's Table - TheTVDB.com.

Check the video files themselves. Play them outside of Plex. See if they are complete video files and are indeed the episodes which they claim to be.

If this check turns out positive, perform the Plex dance with all 4 files which are mentioned in these log files.

If even that doesn’t change anything, verify the health of your server database.

I checked the video files and they are indeed the same episodes and plex somehow caught that even though they are named differently. Seems there has been a mistake importing the files to the library because of the reason dokuro mentioned.

Reimported/rehardlinked the proper files and all is good now.

The log entry could be clearer though.

When Plex reports that it has detected renamed files, it means that it recognized the files using a kind of checksum – i.e. based on their actual content.
Different episodes are not supposed to be identical.
