Issue with DVR guide & two plex servers each with its own tuner

Server Version#: Both 1.19.1.2589
Player Version#: 7.30.1.16475
Tuner Make/Model: HDHomerun Prime & HDHomeRun CONNECT QUATRO

Hi all,

I run two plex servers (VMs) on my home network so that I can use two different tuners (one for OTA and one for a cable card so each has different channels and a different guide) since it wasn’t possible to use them both on one server. I’ve been doing this for a while without an issue, but at some point recently something broke in regard to the guide data. What happens is if I pick say server A (with OTA tuner) the guide details is for the cable card tuner and not the OTA one. Then if I pick sever B (with cable card tuner) the guide data is correct and is for that tuner. I’ve had this happen on the firetv app as well as the app on my pixel device. BTW, what is interesting is the guide showing up on my firetv stick is different than what is on my pixel so it appears to be which server/tuner I tried to look at the guide for first. Also I should mention that when I go into the settings for each server under Live TV & DVR the correct tuners are listed in the settings.

Has anyone seen this or know if it’s a known bug? Any ideas?

If anyone is using two tuners on two different servers on their network could you please check if you’re seeing the same issue? It’s really frustrating not to be able to use my one tuner anymore.

I’m working with the devs on this and here is what’s needed from you:

Get clean logs:

  1. Make sure debug is ON and verbose is OFF on both servers
  2. Restart both servers
  3. Restart the client
  4. Connect to server A’s Live TV/DVR in the client (which should show the correct guide data)
  5. Connect to server B’s Live TV/DVR in the client (which should show the wrong guide data)
  6. Grab logs from the client and both servers

Getting PMS logs:

Gettings logs from Android platforms:

Please follow the above directions and attach the zip files to your next post.

Thanks! I’ll work on getting these logs in the near future.

OK, I was just able to do the test and get the logs.

After rebooting all, I connected to Server A via the client and the Guide data showed Server A’s channel lineup. I then switched in the client to Server B and tried to view the guide data for it, but it again showed Server A’s channel lineup instead of showing Server B’s lineup like I would expect. Logs from the client and servers are attached in the zip file. If you have any questions, let me know.

Curious if there are any updates on this. I’m still seeing this issue.

One thing I was wondering is if you have a different name for each server. Also what are you using for the EPG?

The servers each have a unique name so its easy to tell them apart. I’m not exactly sure what you mean when you ask what I’m using for EPG. One tuner is an OTA one so it’s just using program guide data based on the OTA channels in the area and the other is a cable card one so it’s using channels based on the cable company’s channel lineup. Some of the same channels are available on both tuners, but sometimes with different channel numbers.

Hi Darcilicious, I’m just curious how this process normally plays out. I’m guessing we’re just in a holding pattern until this issue can be looked into, verified, and then resolved? Is there any public way to track it or basically just need to wait it out? Thanks for any info you can provide.

Well I’m not sure when this was fixed, but I’m no longer seeing the issue so I think it’s no longer an issue.
