Hello All, I am having some issues with my Plex trailers. I love that a feature of plex is to play trailers before a movie. The problem for me is that I would like the latest movie trailers to be played. Currently, the movie trailers that do play are at least 2 - 3 months old. (I’ve seen the Zootopia trailer about 20 times). I would like to know the following:
How to have Plex play current trailers for movies releasing in the future.
How to stop seeing ‘Sundance’ films, only big title films.
I am running my plex server on a Windows 10 machine. Date and time are current across all platforms I am playing Plex on.
Keep in mind that trailers are limited to the rating for the movie. If you are seeing Zootopia a lot, that means you are watching PG rated movies. There are not many PG rated movies, coming soon, so the choice is very limited. Also keep in the mind, the settings in Plex are for coming soon, not coming in the future, so if you are looking for things that are 1 year or more out, that won’t happen. Lastly, the trailers are provided by a third party and Plex is not able to filter out the choices, so leaving out independent films or specific categories of films is not possible.
I’ve seen pretty much nothing but Zootopia trailers for a couple months now, and I have it set to show trailers for upcoming theater movies, upcoming home video movies, and movies in my personal library. Yet somehow, Zootopia wins out every time. You can’t tell me there’s not money changing hands somewhere to make this happen.
