I set the subtitles on plex for xbox to never burn, but when I play the movie, it still burns the subtitles. My subtitles are PGS. And I set three modes, always burn, never burn and automatic, it will burn subtitles. It causes a lot of lag when playing the movie.
This is happening cause xbox ,if i understand correctly, cant use any image based subtitles (sub,ass,pgs, etc) hence the burn which what it does it takes these kind of subtitles, burns them to the video (transcodes) and then you have the final product.
You have lag and stuttering cause server does the transcoding part.
Use an srt subtitle file and you will never see this issue or disable subtitles.
