I’m having issues connecting to my home server via the Plex.tv website (i’ve tried Chrome and Mozilla). It seems to work if I use the local host address or If I open it through the Plex App icon on my laptop. However it won’t connect to the server if I try logging in via the plex.tv website. I never had an issue before. Seems to be all of a sudden. I’ve tried deleting and re-installing everything. I’ve also tried disabling my Antivirus and I rebooted my laptop & Router.
The issue is that your server didn’t get a valid TLS certificate from plex.tv.
So it cannot use ‘secure connections’. But the hosted web app is defaulting to secure connections.
So, by default, it doesn’t show servers where Secure connections are either disabled or are not working for some reason.
Make sure you didn’t block any plex.tv related domains or IPs in your firewall. Then shut down your server and restart it. Let it sit for a few minutes before trying anything else. In this time it will hopefully fetch a valid certificate for itself.
Or did you define a custom domain or a custom certificate for your server?
(Settings - Settings - Network - ‘Show Advanced’)
The link you provided seems to work fine. Still can’t connect when I try logging in through the normal Plex website though.
I haven’t identified any custom domains.
Tried looking for anything blocked by my firewall but no luck. I’m using Kaspersky Internet Security, but I dont think the issue is from that as I’ve completely closed it and I’m still having the same issue.
That worked ! I guess I may have disabled it by accident. I changed it to preferred and I’m now able to connect to my server via the standard Plex website. Thank you.
