Issues emptying trash

Hi,
I’m having several, probably connected problems with only one of my libraries (music):

  1. I can’t empty the trash, so those music which I deleted from the server won’t be removed from Plex UI using trash (actually won’t even put the trash can now for some reason)
I tried my best to identify the error and i have these three lines of error in my logs which appear every time I try to empty the trash along with a regular error message on the UI (" There was a problem emptying the trash.")

Exception inside transaction (inside=1) (…/Library/MetadataItem.cpp:777): Null value fetched and no indicator defined.
Exception inside transaction (inside=1) (…/Library/MediaItem.cpp:772): Null value fetched and no indicator defined.
Soci Exception handled: Null value fetched and no indicator defined.

  1. I have an undeletable artist that I can’t delete even if I enable media deletion in the settings. First it was an artist where I had a permanent trash icon that I could not remove with empty trash. I moved out all the albums of that artist, run scan again and then I had the artist remaining without any albums or songs with a trash icon visible. I tried emptying trash (did not work: “there was an error when emptying trash”) and also tried enabling media deletion and deleting this empty artist altogether from the web ui, not working either. I unmatched this artist, deleted every detail I could find in the artist info and renamed it to some nonsense so at least it would be the very last item, but still it is annoying. I also tried cleaning bundles, same error of emptying trash.

I feel like these issues should be connected. What can I do? I am running on Ubuntu Server 16.04, Version 1.18.0.1944 and the database folder should have fine permissions. Emptying trash works on my other libraries, only my music refuses to work. I also checked the database, came back with an “OK”, still did the repair as suggested by the website, same problems.

Thanks

does anyone have any useful ideas?

My guess would be database corruption. If it were me, I would try fixing using the procedure here https://support.plex.tv/articles/201100678-repair-a-corrupt-database/

as written above I checked the database according to that link, it said “OK”, but along the reccommendations of the link I still performed the repair process to no avail
I can manually delete most of the trash through the “…” menu with enabled media deletion (though some missing media are not indicated with the trashcan), but the “Empty trash” does not work
