Issues upgrading to DSM7

I upgraded my synology from DSM6 to DSM7 and unfortunately missed the step to uninstall plex on the DSM6 before upgrading. When installing on the DSM7 my libraries are undiscoverable. Is there a way to still migrate my system over? Or at least recover the metadata without having to manually add everything back?

Confirm for me that everything (Plex Media Server) folder still exists in the “Plex” shared folder .

If it does.

  1. Uninstall + ERASE option

  2. Now install the package

  3. If, after passing all the permission change requirements (it will tell you what to do), it sits there at “Installing”, then let it go. Ignore what DSM might say after that (e.g. need to log out , etc etc.) The only thing you’re interested in is:

  • Installation Successful popup (you got it right),
    –OR–
  • the error (e.g. system error 0 because you forgot some permissions settings)
