Hi all,
Got a really weird issue with a friend who’s using a Fire Cube to access my Plex server.
Basically he has to reduce the streaming performance/bandwidth right down to about 1mb or it’s continually stopping and buffering.
No other people have issues and I’ve just got him to test it on a computer with the Windows client and it’s fine so clearly something to do with the Cube.
Just wondered if anyone knew of any issues with this specific device?
Found this post having similar issues. PC, Android, and other clients are all fine.
We have a Fire Cube (pre-4k) in the living room on the same LAN as the server, Gigabit connections.
Fire cube is fine with all other content, but Plex buffers on any setting above 720.
I’ll try to look into it in future, but as life is busy I’m currently leaning toward just throwing money at the problem and connecting a different device to that TV

I get a similar issue locally, but only with 4k high bit rate content.
I actually don’t believe the 3rd Gen FireCub is up to the task.
Might help if the Plex Buffer can be increased. My FireCube port is 1gbps, but limited by USB to 340mbps, but still more than enough bandwidth.
