Hello, a couple of days ago Plex stopped playing movies on my library from my Fire TV Cube. On another TV (LG brand), connected to the same server, they still work perfectly.
The problem is that I can access to my libray, but when I start a movie I get the yellow circle or just the audio or just a single frame (with audio running).
The Fire TV is connected via ethernet cable, so wi-fi interferences are not possible.
I have already deleted cache and data and I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the app on the Fire TV Cube.
Fire TV firmware is updated to the latest version and Plex Media Server is the latest version.
There might be a fix for this in v 10.16 of the app, which hasn’t been made live yet on Amazon. If you want you can use this link and sideload the app if you don’t want to wait for it to go live
I have installed the app from the link you sent me, but it didn’t solve the problem. The problem is exactly the same as before.
Ok then may be a different issue. Would you be able to share your Android Logs as well as a sample file of any file you can’t play?
I have attached the logs. About the sample file, I can’t play any fullHD/4K video I used to play (format is always mkv).

Ok there is nothing in your logs to indicate what its stuck on. The last file you played could you try changing to the DTS audio track and then play. And try disabling refresh rate and resolution switching?
I have the same cube and do not have any issues with starting playback
I have changed file and switched between DD and DTS, but the problem is still there. Refresh rate and resolution switching were already disabled. I have attached the latest LOG.

Ok still nothing in your logs, does this happen with every video or only some? And if you force the quality lower during playback so that it transcodes does it play?
It happens with every video. The only ones that work are the very old ones, in 480p or 576p, which work fine. Every 1080p or 4k video has the same issues, varying from yellow circle to still frame with audio playing regularly. It is very strange because my system worked for a couple of years flawlessly, and now, without changing any component or doing any settings modification, it became unusable. The only thing that has might have changed is the Plex server release or Plex app release (or FireCube firmware update). I didn’t try to lower the quality and transcode because that is definitely a solution that I’m not fine with.
I am not asking you to lower quality as a solution, we are trying to find where the error is so we need to go through all possibilities as we are unable to reproduce what you are experiencing. I am going to provide you with another build that has additional logging to see if we can pinpoint what’s happening.
Ok could you try this build. Even if playback is working or not leave playback for longer than 10 seconds and then grab the logs. There is a timeout trigger that we need to trigger to see what’s happening.
I have tried to change the home streaming content.
If I set it to 8Mbps 1080p the problem is still the same. If I set it at 4Mbps 720p (or lower) I get a unable to play media error.
After doing this I have installed the build you sent me and left the file playing (I should say NOT playing, same thing as before) for more than 10 seconds and I have attached the log.

Ok new build to try, same thing start playback and let it run for more than 10 seconds then send logs.
Sorry for the back and forth, these issues are difficult to investigate especially when we cant reproduce.

Why can’t I install any of these on my Fire Cube 3rd Gen? Do you have to uninstall the one from the Amazon store?
I have issues with it playing a single frame and giving up.
