Player Version#: 7.0 (iOS)
Hello, I have an iPhone XS Max 256GB (iOS v13.4.1) and for as long as I can remember (at least the last several years) I have run up against a bug in the Plex app where media deletion is not working properly.
In essence, any synced media I delete ends up looking as though it’s deleted within the Plex app when you delete it (as you’d expect), however behind the scenes the Plex app does not actually relinquish the space that the media once took up on the iOS filesystem. In other words, if you were to go into Settings > General > iPhone Storage, you’d notice that the Plex app still is listed as being several gigabytes large and never lowers as you’d expect after deleting the files.
The only workaround I’m aware of is to delete the entire Plex app and reinstall it. In retrospect, doing this once every couple of months for the past few years has been ridiculous!
There are other forum posts here I’ve come across who confirm they have the same issue, and again the only workaround I’m aware of is to delete the entire app and reinstall it.
I haven’t been able to find a way to contact the Plex app developers (as the only support that’s listed on the website redirects you to these forums). Are there any Plex developers/employees who could comment on this longstanding bug and when a fix for this bug is slated to be officially released?
Thanks!
