Synced content that has been "deleted" still takes up many gigabytes of space.

This has been an issue for me for all versions of Plex for iOS from 4.0 up to the present. When synced items that are watched are “deleted” from Plex iOS, they still take up storage space. Even when I go into Plex and manually delete all synced content, the Plex app still takes up gigabytes of space (25 gigs this last time). The only way I can recover the space is by deleting and reinstalling the app.

It’s getting frustrating to have to reinstall Plex on my iPhone every few weeks to recover the space and get sync working again. Is a solution pending for this problem?

I have the same issue. If I cannot manage synced content, what is the point of having a plex pass? This is a big issue, & needs dev attention. As a dev myself, I would be happy to help in any way.

Add my name to the list. I’m having the same problem.

This is a known issue. A fix is implemented in the latest Preview version of PMS. https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/219652/plex-media-server-transcoder-preview-0-9-17-0

If you don’t mind testing the new PMS, see if that solves your problem.

Edit - I was mistaken. The fix is on the PMS side and does not help with the iOS issue. This bug has been reported and on the list of things to fix.
