Ever since the update to 1.14.0.5470 I’ve noticed that I can no longer watch live TV for longer then 20 minutes or so. The stream will stop, then give an error saying the signal quality is too low to playback tv. If I watch TV directly though the HD Homerun it runs fine, no issues. Before the update I had no issues with watching live TV through Plex and would often fall asleep and wake up to the live tv stream still going. I also logged in and watched TV over plex while keeping an eye on the channel signal strength and quality through the HDHomeRun web interface. At no time did the quality drop below 100% or the signal fall below 90% but yet Plex would abort the stream claiming poor signal strength.
No problem. Sorry about that
All the Roku TV’s are running Plex for Roku ver. 6.1.1.5282-4907f3688-Plex. The Android devices are running Plex for Android ver 7.8.2.8255 and web interface is showing as Plex Web ver 3.69.1. Plex Server is running on Ubuntu Server 16.04.5 LTS. Plex is the only thing running on the server. While no tv is streaming my processor usage is 1%. When plex starts streaming live tv the processor stays around 30 to 40 percent.
I checked the settings and you are correct. They did reset back to default. My current transcoder directory is /plextemp. The directory is owned by plex as well.
Well unfortunately I think I’ve narrowed it down to the new Plex for Roku App. I have had Live TV running through Plex Web, Plex for Android, Plex Web and Plex for Roku for over an hour now. All the same channel just for consistency. All the clients are working perfectly with the exception of Plex for Roku. I’ve tried it on both Roku TV’s, the Roku 3 and the Roku stick. All with the same result. After about 30 or so minutes I get a low signal error and the streaming stops. Non Live TV content seems to be working fine. I guess its just wait and see at this point.
Yeah I posted about this in the last week. Same result, I didn’t know if it was PMS or the Plex app with live tv at first either. This problem on live-tv only happens with the roku. Playing non-live tv is fine. I reverted PMS and problem still occurs, to rule out PMS. PMS records hours upon hours flawlessly even on the latest version so I’m staying latest. Hopefully the roku app gets an update soon that fixes this.
Are you using the Plex Preview channel or regular? I’ve been using the Preview to 1.4.1-5488 without incident.
Some causal evidence from other users is that background activities like library scanning will interrupt recordings and playback. I have everything turned off and scheduled tasks only run in the early AM.
