Issues with transcoding

Hi, hoping someone can offer some advice here. I’ll also say up front while, when it comes to windows, i know what i’m doing (i work in IT) when it comes to Linux (sort of, truenas) and docker, i’m rather clueless.

The issue is when transcoding, i get the following line in the logs - Denying access due to session lacking permission to transcode key /library/metadata/20705

The number obviously changes depending on the file, and googling tells me that is not a folder path.

Is anyone able to give me some advice on this? possibly after pointing out all the important info i haven’t thought to include? thanks!

No one has any idea what this error means?

I’m not looking for a solution on a plate here guys, just a point in the right direction, as as it stands, I have no idea what this error means.

I’m happy to do the leg work right now i have no idea where to start.

Surely someone from plex can tell me what the error actually means?

Please?

I’m having the same issue with my Plex server. For me it seems the error only occurs when trying to play media on a Windows based device or an Xbox.
