Hello,
I have been getting the following error when trying to play a lot of my media lately.
“Denying access due to session lacking permission to transcode key /library/metadata/276594”
I get this error when playing on my Shield and Chromecast. I don’t get the error when playing on my Android phone or Android TV.
Plex is installed as a container and I have changed the permissions on every folder for it.
I use a NVidia 2080 super for transcoding. I have also tried turning off hardware transcoding or using the Intel chip. I get the same error.
I think I have changed every option in the plex server and player. Toggled them all and tried again, same error.
I have deleted the codec folder and let it re-download, same error.
I have done some troubleshooting so far, below are links to two reddit posts with some additional steps that I have taken with help from others.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Copy of your server logs that contain this issue?

3
Plex Media Server.log (4.9 MB)
So this log should show the errors that stop the play back at any time after 00:07.
Thank you for your help.

@ChuckPa are you seeing anything in these logs?
I don’t see the error in the logs.
It’s rolled off because the scanner did a full scan of all the media.
I do see that the iGPU is not passed into the container.
The i7-9700K is a “Coffee Lake” CPU with a UHD630 iGPU.
It can do hardware transcoding of all the media.
I suggest changing the Library settings to only do a Partial Scan.
This will minimize the scanner intrusion in the logs
