Italic embedded text subtitles in mp4 are displayed with HUGE characters

Player Version#: 4.1 (Plex Player), 2.47 (PMP) on macOS (10.15 and 10.13)

Most of my movies have external .srt subtitles, so I didn’t see the issue before.
In a .mp4 file with embedded text subtitles (“MOV_TEXT”), italic subtiles are shown in huge characters. Non italic subtitles are OK.

Same issue on both the new player and PMP.

I had hope that this would be corrected in the Plex Player 5.0 preview, which introduces subtitles size back, but this is not the case. Italic subtitles stay huge whatever the setting is.
