I have been with you guys since you were a tiny concept, charging $75.00 for a lifetime Plex Pass. Bugs were everywhere, the struggle with sequencing metadata was the major headache (some would argue it still is, but I know better when I’ve seen a baby grow into a proper young gentleman) and here we are, there are places set on the table of major streaming powerhouses, and Plex has a placemat on it. But something is missing when I start Plex up. It’s a silence so loud in my ears…nothing. Just a quirky font spelling out the name of my favorite, hands-down media player that I have rooted for since day 1.
Now I don’t know what the cost or what the process is behind this breakthrough change (yeah, adding a chime is the turning point in my eyes, when you sit there and realize…other platforms are sweating, scared we are juuuust about to surpass them in just about every category of awesomeness)
So, Plex. Think hard. You have 1-2 seconds to steal the listeners ears…what will that sound like?
Love this idea, it will compliment the new refreshed Plex logo in feeling modern & give a more finished feel (aesthetically anyway). Probably would be good to have the option of disabling the feature for those who want to bypass. But I think this is a feature that the general public & outside of the forum would appreciate (those who want to just plug in & play/not too fussed about workings) - I feel it just gives that feeling of “we have arrived”
