Plex recently added a start up sound to the app which now yells PLEX at you and you can’t disable it. My android tv has it but not sure if it’s come to the other players yet.

Hey Plex folks, stop adding usesless crap and make Plex operate reliably. No more ads, no more intrusive nonsense like this. What is wrong with you people?

wtf does plex force this trash onto the userbase. any new feature, requested or not, need an off setting/switch. not everyone wants this stuff. and in this case, NO USERS want this startup sound.

This is the most egregious update in Plex history. Please make it go away.

My own opinion here but I bet some stakeholder with influence in plex seen this as a good idea and forced it in. No right minded developer would ever see this as a positive improvement in their software. Smells of outside influence …

I swear to god, the moment my TV updates to this and yells “PLEX” on startup I’m moving to Jellyfin. F

This change isnt even in the changelog! someone at plex just threw it in and thought nobody would notice? Every time i turn my TV on it shouts at me now.
