When you plug your iPad into your computer (in my case an iMac), the iTunes File Sharing tab allows you to transfer documents between your computer and your iPad.

So, if the Plex app showed up in the list of apps supporting this you would be able to transfer your movies directly from the computer to your iPad (into the Plex app), rather than having to sync over wifi to the app itself.

Is this not supported or am I missing something?

If not, this would be a great feature to add.

Is there any plan to support iTunes File Sharing? It’s much easier to transfer files this way than through wifi and sync.

No. There never has been any file sharing. You can sync your media to your devices. If your iDevice had a network cable, you could sync that way but Wifi is almost as fast as gigabit so I fail to see the real difference.
