Junction vs Real folder for metadata (Plex Data) [HDD to SSD]

I have a HDD on here ALL the data of all the apps installed on the server are saved.
At the moment I can’t upgrade that HDD to SSD yet. However the operating system is on an SSD with 300gb and more free.

As a matter of logic (all server data resides in only one device / hdd), I wanted to leave the data folder on the HDD unchanged and create the real folder on the SSD as a Junction (so the files reside on the SSD but Plex points to the fake folder in the HDD).
Are there any performance issues in doing this?

I wanted to avoid changing the configuration (I have seen that sometimes it creates problems with the service update etc.).
It is also not final, as soon as I can upgrade hdd to ssd, everything would go back into that ssd.

However, if using the junction does not exploit the capabilities of the SSD, I have no choice but to change the configuration and point Plex to the real folder in the SSD.

At least the library lags like never before and it became frustrating to wait even 1 minute before it loads all the elements (we are talking about 400 anime series, 300 movies in 8 TB).
Since in this HDD there is the data of all the rest of the software on the server (Emby, Sonarr, SQL, IIS, Video Games Server, Pyhton Server etc.) it is clear that Plex struggles even more to load the navigation UI.

It is not a question of optimizing the database. it is HDD that is no longer good for this large installation.

Thanks in advance

IMHO, for a Windows server, it is better to follow this guide [HowTo] An extended guide on how to move the Plex data folder on Windows

Junctions are prone to trapfalls, particularly because Windows doesn’t indicate them by default.
You better avoid them for your media volumes as well, because they prevent a safety feature in Plex to function when one of the linked drives goes down.

So it’s more a question of bad management than performance. I will make the switch to real folder. Thank you (this was where I read about the update service issue)
