Just a few suggestions...

Sorry if this is the wrong place or has already been discussed. I didn’t find any references to what I’m suggesting.

I’d like to suggest a couple things for the Dev group.

  1. A way or ability to turn on consecutive viewing of TV shows or movies. I would at least like an ability to queue up media within plex to have a watchlist that doesn’t require any additional input to go to the next episode of a series.

  2. Home movie organization. Maybe an ability to separate or compartmentalize movies. In my case I’m an auto enthusiast who likes to take video when I’m out and about. But I’d like to separate this from videos of my daughter or any other home movies. Maybe have the plex clients be able to relay a tree structure for the home movie category.

  3. Maybe a way to specify Direct Stream for certain types of media. i.e. avi = Direct Stream, .mkv = Transcode and so on. I’ve had some pretty poor results with the transcoder transcoding media that my player (Roku) can easily decode itself. granted my processor on the server is not up to snuff (2.8 GHZ single core) I’d still like to have the Roku handle the heavy lifting when it’s capable.

Oh and thanks for having such a user-friendly product.

[]This is a frequently requested item. Lots of us would love this!

]Two recommendations: 1) Create a separate folder on your computer to store these videos and create a new Home Movie Section that points to that folder (you can have multiple Sections of every type!); 2) Leave everything in one folder/Section, but add a Category to the racing vids, and then view by Category in your client (if your client supports it; don’t think Roku does though).

Good idea! Good luck with this, though. Seems like a very specific preference combo that would take a lot of work to implement, and might even be dependent on the client capabilities. So, a pref that’s specific the Section, Client, and possibly even the File Extension. Lots of work there!
