Playback has stopped because the connection to Plex Media Server has been lost. Please ensure the server is available and retry.
I can’t play it on the computer the movie is on either. It doesn’t give me an error, just the “working spinny thing”
I get the error on the Fire stick that I added Plex to today and it asked for the code, put it in, all was well.
It sees the movies, wont play.
Luckily I didn’t pay for the lifetime and just the monthly to see if this works for me.
Please explain how you have your system configured. What OS, hardware, network, clients, etc. Where is your media? We need to know all of that to help troubleshoot the problem.
It’s just on my home computer. It populates the movies, just doesn’t play.
I’m on Windows 10. The Fire stick that gave me the error was on the same wifi network.
The above might not be the actual issue - just stumbled on it when looking at the logs on my iPad - a bit difficult to look at the logs on the iPad. So I will step aside
That the movie won’t play locally is troublesome. You should be able to play the movie via Plex Web or Plex Media Player on your PC. Please send the XML for the movie you’re trying to play.
Can you play the movie with VLC or similar apps on your PC?
Regarding the Fire TV Stick:
How is it connected - directly to TV or to a receiver?
Make and model of TV, receiver, etc?
Audio settings in FireTV OS?
Audio settings in Plex app?
Plex client version?
Other apps work OK - YouTube, Netflix, etc?
To pull the XML, launch Plex Web and go to the movie you want to play. Click on the three dots in the upper right corner, then on “Get Info.” This pulls up the Media Info panel. Click on “View XML.” Save the info to a file & send.
