Just updated... All works... Except wont play!

Ive updated everything and created profiles etc.

 

My ATV3 now opens plex, will view trailers in the channels as well as browse through all my movies and tv shows, but whenever i goto play any of my media files it gives the old 'Trailers Unavailble...' garbage...

 

Have tried restart or both PC and the ATV3 with no luck...

  • Your ATV model (2 or 3) and firmware version (found under the ATV settings > general > about > Apple TV software): ATV3 5.1.1

  • The DNS server set on the ATV (found under the ATV settings > general > network > DNS): 192.168.1.2

  • The device and operating system (including version number) that PlexConnect is installed on: PC - Windows 7 32bit

  • The local IP address of the device that PlexConnect is installed on: 192.168.1.2

  • The device and operating system (including version number) that the Plex media server (PMS) is installed on: Windows 7 32bit

  • The Plex media server (PMS) version number you are running (do not put 'latest'): 0.9.7.28

  • The local IP address of the device that the Plex media server (PMS) is installed on:192.168.1.2

  • The PlexConnect version number. If using Github source then a time and date of download (look at the creation date of the folder) and if you are using any testing branch e.g. the Elan/PlexInc one. 5/11/13

  • The content of your 'Settings.cfg' file (if you do not have this file you are running an old version, please update)

Your problem is your ATV firmware. Plexconnect doesn’t work with 5.1.1. You will need to upgrade to at least 5.2.1.

You should also update your PMS as your version has problems with a number of Plex channels.

Will the upgrade now goto the latest iOS... 6.whatever?? Does this work with Plex?

Just realised when i was 'Checking for updates' in PMS, it was actually the 'Plex/Web' tab...

Yes, if you update through the ATV’s software update it will go to 6.01 which will work with Plexconnect. The most recent public version of PMS is 9.8.10 which is available on the Plex website even if it doesn’t appear in when you check for update in PMS.

Dont update to 6.01 yet, theres still an annoying bug

I cant (or wasnt able, have 5.x.x again) fast forward or rewind on certain types of files

The playing media from preplay screen issue is one, but a number of people have had problems seeing media at all.

All up and running.

I was avoiding aTV upgrade as i didnt mant to make it harder to JB in case it ever happens... Haha...
