ATV3 can see files but not play "Trailers in unavailable" PlexConnect

Hi Guys,

 

First post so I hope I don't make some of the noob mistakes. I have looked aroudn the forum but I can't find the answer to this particular issue. I have ATV3 pointing to Plexconnect on Ubuntu 12.04 Desktop version acting as PMS. Works perfectly on all devices except the Apple TV 3. It can view all the files but when I attempt to play it gives the error "Trailers is unavailable. Please try again later." 

 

Any help would be appreciated.

I know that you are going to get the please read the FAQ and other documentation and you should, but I remember having this problem when I was setting up my ATV3, and I had two things that caused this, first I was using a snow leopard install, and I didn't check my version of python, and it was older than the supported version, once I fixed that the same thing was happening again, and I realized that I was on the latest branch and that doesn't support the older firmware so I had to upgrade the firmware on my ATV3.

Brilliant - updating the ATV3 worked! I had ruled out the atv because it worked with OSX. I was holding out for a jailbreak. Anyways thanks a million.

Apologies for bringing up such an old post, it just happens that I have the same problem. Just found out about Plex connect and tried it on my atv3. Managed to get everything working up to the point when you select to play a movie. Upon selecting I get the "Trailers is unavailable. Try again later" message...

I am running plex connect with python 2.75 on a windows 7 fileserver (plex media server version 0.9.8.4).

Followed the guide, have injected the certificate into the atv3. Atv is on version 5.1 (5201)

Do I have to upgrade something the atv software? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

5.1 has issues with our PrePlay XMLs - it doesn't like the "stash" commands.

Workaround: start your movie with the PLAY button instead of the center... this will skip the PrePlayScreen and you should be all set.

Or... save your blobs, update to 5.3 and be happy. I am really loosing my hope for an aTV 3 jailbreak with older software - anybody still working on that?
