Watching on a Sony XBR49X900E that is connected to the house mesh router (Asus) via ethernet. All connections from server computer to routers to TV are hardwired. Computer is brand new Lenovo Legion with an 11th Gen Intel i5, 16 GB of RAM, and a NVIDIA GTX 1660 Super video card.
This has happened a few times recently. First a few weeks ago with a movie I was watching and then last night with a TV show. Both were downloads of 1080p quality and last night specifically had a bitrate of 2225kbps. Every 5-10 minutes get a spinning yellow circle and then a message that bandwidth is insufficient to play the selected video. If I back out and immediately press the play button again it picks right back up (except for the delays of the system going back to the menu and then back into the content). At no point did it become choppy, pixelated, or anything like that.
Then I went to a different TV and viewed on a different Android based streaming device (a stream box from Verizon) that is over WiFi and had zero issues dropping. Also don’t experience this when streaming to my basement setup via Xbox One S.
Considering that it worked fine on other devices and that it is hardwired to the Sony TV leads me to believe it is less about the computer or the network and more about the PLEX app on the Sony TV. Any suggestions on how to fix this so I don’t have such an interrupted viewing experience?
