Every since I did the last server update, my Plex is now keep saying there wasn’t unexpected error Please call plugs for further assistant, unexpected playback error never had any issues for all these years until this last firmer update that I did couple days ago and I’m using the Plex app on Mac OS X. Nothing is remote nothing is web browser. Never had any issues.
I’m getting this all the time since the recent update.
Oddly enough, I’m getting the SAME error with the previous server on macOS X. The only thing that has updated recently is the macOS client.

I was having it randomly while playing the 2hr 43min 1080p concert film I ripped from blu ray. Playing videos like this on this machine is a regular thing and has been working fine.
Makes me wonder if it’s not the last server update but the two recent Client updates that have brought this on.

even though the title says MacOS, this happens for me also. The workaround is in it (disable scanning). Not sure what the cause it, but most likely this is all the same issue.
I’ve received this error, but only with 1080p videos since the latest PlexMediaServer-1.40.0.7998 update. On the videos i’ve created an optimized version for mobile (720p version) it will play those. Also it errors out if I try and optimize one of the 1080p videos. It won’t make an optimized version anymore.
