okay i can tell you i can not reproduce it using the web client. but i cannot test the ps5 client right now since i’m not at home. i will tell you later today and send the logs
Plex Media Server Logs_2025-11-26_21-02-23.zip (1.4 MB)
latest logs with the error
Thanks, I’ll ask Chris to take a look next week.
he may contact peter since we are working in the same building. i can give chris temporarily access to my server. but a ps5 client is required for reproducing that issue. i will try several other clients and see if i can reproduce the issue with them too.
here latest log, since last one may have not contained the neccessary information. i just redid the test using my ps5 and dumped the log straight after the error raised up
i also retested 1.43.0.10231 (the previous beta). this version does not show this error. so the problem must be introduced between 10231 and 10341 if that helps
What version of ffmpeg is backed into latest preview?
Thank you for all the effort!
I was able to repro the issue on my PS5 with some files but not every file triggered the transcoder crash for me. I’ve provided Chris with a sample file so he can take a look at this next week.
yes, thats true. but in my library i found alot and i also exactly know what i need to play to trigger it which was included in the last log (its the only file i tried)
Does the latest beta (1.43.0.10389) address the issue?
Problem with Live TV is still here for me… ![]()
FYI… the transcoder crashing due to Unknown decoder 'aac_lc' which I reported above appears to be fixed with beta plexmediaserver-1.43.0.10389-8be686aa6. Thanks (especially @Atomatth) for their help with this one.
@ouvr7 your issue has been filed and will likely be fixed in 1.43.1 in the new year.
@ouvr7 have you sent me a sample which reproduces the error yet? it seems to be missing from the issue and I need to go back and find it if you have
so you guys know, this will be going public over the next couple of days. we have addressed most of the issues, however there are still some unresolved issues (especially live tv issues reported by only one user) which have been filed and will hopefully be resolved over the next couple of versions.
Must admit to being quite nervous about this update, but I get the need for the transcoder changes. Thanks Chris.
However, I’m really looking forward to many of the other enhancements in this coming update. I might just hold off a bit to see how things go on the larger user base.
You think your nervous… lol
LOL! ![]()
True.
Just keep a local copy of the current public build, plexmediaserver-1.42.2.10156-f737b826c, I always keep N-2. If it all goes belly up due to some edge case issue not found in testing then just roll back to that until the team have time to fix it.
I’d certainly be nervous to if I was on their dev team, its the roll into the holidays and pushing this big change to public will likely see additional issues surface as only a tiny amount of us take beta builds these days.
Plex also rarely (if ever) rollback due to bugs so best advice is to be prepared with the old public build ![]()
You can find all the “explanation” of the problem here (before I see this topic :)) :
No more Live TV - Live TV & DVR - Plex Forum
Nothing special, I just try to launch live TV.
If you need more things telle me ! ![]()
The latest beta doesn’t fix my live TV issue:
ERROR - [Req#439c5/Transcode] Streaming Resource: Cannot make a decision because either the file is unplayable or the client provided bad data.
Verbose logs attached.
No-one has responded to my two previous posts about this issue. Can someone please acknowledge that my problem has been picked up?
