in 1.42 if I had 4k HDR and it transcoded for remote access, if the device supports HDR it will transcode with HDR metadata eg 1080p with HDR. In 1.43 this behaviour is completely gone and when transcode happens it would just tonemap everything even if device supports HDR Just wanted to know if this was an intentional change or a bug.

This still works for me, you need to make sure “Enable HEVC video Encoding (experimental)” is enabled in the transcoder settings.

that setting is on. exact same setting as 1.42 and 1.43 just HDR transcode not working for me in 1.43 for whatever reason. Edit* it’s actually in 1.43 if I do the Automatic Convert, where I let it pick the bitrate etc to transcode at automatically where it breaks the HDR, if I went in and made a bitrate selection then doesn’t tonemap to SDR and encodes as HDR,but if I let it automatically convert and do selection itself it will tonemap everything . In 1.42 Automatic Convert doesn’t behave this way.

I juste updated with the v.1.43.0.10467-2b1ba6e69 version, and now Live TV works. Thanks ! :slight_smile:

Hey mate, I know I mentioned this while the new transcoder was in the preview but ended up having a look and the transcoder isn’t built with a dvb_teletext decoder.

Plex has always struggled with this format so would be great to include libzvbi which can transcode the teletext to any text format and even ass.

Would make live tv in Aus and many other countries much nicer, so hopefully can have a look at some point. :slight_smile:

Hi – I’m noticing that Dolby Vision files with AC3 doesn’t seem to play on iOS (“Error opening input”) anymore with the latest Plex Media Server version (1.43.0.10467) with the new transcoder. It works when downgrading to the previous public release (1.42.2.10156).

just had to roll back from newly installed 1.43.0.10492-121068a07 as streaming live tv from my local cable box was unwatchable due to buffering every few seconds - no such problems with the previous version.
