Hey - plexmediaserver_1.32.4.7119-2a91a776a_amd64 has restored HW transcoding on my i7-4770s.
Thanks!
Still no HW transcoding on my Synology 1019+ with PlexMediaServer-1.32.4.7119-2a91a776a-x86_64_DSM6.spk

May I please have the CPU info?
J3355, J3455, J4025, or J4125 or ???
Should be the J3455 for DSx19+. (Like this post if correct)
J3455 for the DS1019+
I can confirm HW transcoding works on i7-3770 with version 1.32.4.7119.
Thanks !
Hey @ChuckPa,
It seems it’s working! I’ve got both the i7-3770 and the K2200 selectable now and ran the test on the QSV, nice job! I’ve learnt something to, that the i915 is the kernel thingy and i965 is the driver, I was getting confused before I finally got my beloved Quadro K2200 up and running again with EFI turned off (strange!) Nicely done by the team once again!
For my next trick I’ll be pulling a rabbit from my…

Still not working on J3355 with the PlexMediaServer-1.32.4.7119
Same here, I updated my DS218+ with 1.32.4.7119, and unfortunately still no HW transcoding. I tried to downgrade, but now it is telling me Cannot rollback to older version. Am I stuck with this version?
@randyronq You’ll need to go into the terminal and cd into the folder you’ve downloaded it to, and then sudo dpkg -i (nameofthefile).deb if you’re on a deviant flavour
Dave
Thank you for the tip, but Im on Synology, so I downloaded the .spk file. It’s normally installed using Synology’s own Package Center.
@randyronq No worries, this may help on this site - https://community.synology.com/enu/forum/17/post/96628
Dave
Figured it out, I’m sure it is also explained somewhere in this forum. I just couldn’t find it.
I have to first uninstall Plex, and select Uninstall Only. Then install the version you want to downgrade to. Easy ![]()
Unfortunately, 1.32.4.7119 wouldn’t work, so I downgraded to 1.32.1.6999, and HW transcoding is working again !! Just going to wait till they find a fix.
@mw0dcmplex Thank you for that. I’ll bookmark it, in case I need it next time.
I can’t seem to get live TV to work on any new builds. I think this has to be a transcoding issues as well?
Can anyone confirm from my log?
Plex Media Server.zip (199.1 KB)
The last version that seems to work on my fresh installs is 1.29.2.6364
Use 1.32.1.6999
seems to be commonly highest version for folks.
I just tried every version in between 6364 and 7100. 6364 is the last version that works for me on multiple system ¯_(ツ)_/¯
