I googled “plex green rectangles” and found this thread!
This ssh/cd/rm stuff fixed the problem on my Synology DS918+ server. Thanks!
(I actually just renamed the file – didn’t delete it. Also, I am just trying out using the “Syno” for Plex. So far, it seems too slow – 1080p pauses, etc. I have another PMS running on a relatively beefy PC that works perfectly, but I would like to use the “Syno” if I can get it to work acceptably.
I have not really tweaked any Plex settings – just getting started with the “Syno” – so I am not giving up hope. I will require the ExportTools plugin to work, so if it turns out it does not work, well, so much for the “Syno.”)
FYI if I may?
On the DS918+,
- With Hardware Transcoding enabled, pausing will stop – contingent on –
- No subtitle burning. Synology CPUs are not really strong enough for the job.
I upgraded to PMS 1.18.5.2309 because that’s what my “beefy PC” is on. The green rectangles are back (as browsing this thread suggested they might be). The ssh / cd / rm stuff again fixed the problem. I used sudo and then the Synology OS admin password as root's password.
So far I am forced to agree with ChuckPa above – there are PMS performance issues with the DS918+ server. PMS works fine on my “beefy PC” (4-core, 3.2 GHz, 32 GB RAM, Xeon). I can stream 1080p and 7.1 audio no problem there.
