Latest PMS doesn't scan music for volume levels

Server Version#:1.23.3.4707
Player Version#:

Title. Rolling back to 1.19

Which WD NAS?

MyCloud Mirror

What settings do you have for loudness?

Install the latest version and:

  1. Set that to “…and when media is added” like I have
  2. Scan the music library.
  3. Cancel the scan.
  4. Wait five minutes.
  5. Zip up server log files and post them here.

Those are the settings I have. I’m willing to update PMS to latest version, add new music and then submit the log files but I’m going to have to roll back to the current version until you guys can get this fixed.

Bump. Let’s work on getting this resolved, please. Let me know if you want me to upgrade, add an album to the library and post log files.

I’m still the same person I was two weeks ago.

Upgraded to 1.24.1.4931

Added album to library.

Scanned music library.

Canceled scan.

My NAS crashed. Cold booted NAS.

Grabbed log file.

Log file attached.

Re-ran library scan.

Plex found 2 new albums but created 2 separate albums for “Playlist: The Very Best of Gregg Allman” instead of making it 1 album by various artist.

Grabbed log file which is attached.Plex Media Server Databases_2018-07-11_15-15-16.zip (22 Bytes)

I just tried to extract the zip files and I get an error. But that’s what PMS is giving me.

And after upgrading I go to Settings | Library and there’s no option to turn on sonic analysis.

  • If the zip file is corrupt, you might need to grab logs directly from the NAS.
  • Sonic analysis is enabled in the per-library settings.
  • If the NAS is crashing, you might have other bigger issues.

I’ll need you to provide detailed instructions on how to get the logs directly from the NAS.

This is the first time the NAS crashed from doing a library scan.

I see no options for sonic analysis in the library settings. I read an article today that said this is not available for all systems.

I’m going to let this version of PMS run until tomorrow morning since tasks are scheduled overnight and will report back tomorrow.

Ran this version of PMS overnight when scheduled tasks take place. Volume levels for albums still not scanned. Attaching the latest log file which looks corrupt.

That is not a log file, it’s an empty zip of databases.

My (wild) guess is that your NAS is filling up its temporarily directory, which would affect both log files, and possibly loudness analysis. But without more information, I can’t posit further.

Since sonic analysis isn’t available for this platform, I’m just going to ride out using PMS 1.19. I’m going to be migrating to another NAS next year as I need more disk space so I’ll see what happens then.

Does the same PMS software run on MyCloud Mirror and MyCloud Pro? Or is it platform specific?
