Latest update (9th Feb) has ruined Plex on Shield TV

I was looking forward to today update being released because the previous update caused major playback issues, stopping videos after a few second and thinking the video had finished (mainly on TV shows).

I thought today’s update would sort that - NO!
Instead no videos will play at all - they just get the constant waiting circle…

The videos play fine on my mobile - which also received an update on 9th Feb, so it’s specific to the Shield TV Android TV version of the app.

Why release things that clearly aren’t ready?
No my media server is completely useless until another update is released.

I have the same issue. Lastest Plex (plexpass) server with the latest Shield update. Neverending circle and crash. Not the best way to start the weekend :slight_smile:

Refresh rate switching is broken, turn it off in plex settings and all is fine, turn it on and spinning circle and nothing. Was working fine until today’s update.

Plex version - 6.13.3.3443. date- 9th Feb 2018
Plex Server version - 1.10.1.4602 (smb)

This is in the wrong forum, but just an FYI: 6.13.5, released today, fixes this spinning circle issue for me.

i still have the spinning circle on 6.13.6 on the nvidia shield

This JUST started for me yesterday on my Shield TV with slightly different albeit similarly irritating symptoms.
Has to have been a recent update as before it was flawless however it was doing it yesterday evening and when I stopped PLEX and restarted my STV PLEX started an update and the issues continued.
Was there an update yesterday followed by a quick fix or was the update partially loaded?
Either way this all started yesterday for me & it is driving me NUTS…stuttering video, video freezing while audio continues to play, show stops shortly after playing it and tries to play the next in the series, etc. :expressionless:

I can confirm all of what you are mentioning since yesterday, however at the evening my Play Store found another update after which mostly everything was back to normal and I was able to watch 1.5 episodes with pausing, ffw, etc. w/o problems.
Not sure about the version, but most probably the update from the 10th.

I’m noticing the loss of receiving metadata as easily. I cannot get any trailers or extras and I’m a Plex Pass sub. Sometimes it wants to come in and sometimes it doesn’t.

I dont’ want to make a new thread so I am writing this here…anyone having problems with the latest update today 14th February?

I can’t play any videos because “they are not available”? Everything was ok before the update.
