Latest update breaks subtitle preferences

That’s used for on-demand search afaik. Please explain how the auto-download functionality works.

How come that if there is a closed caption it’s ALWAYS shown, no matter what settings I use. Its horribly annoying.

Your library needs to use the Plex Movie (legacy) or TheTVDB agent. The new Plex Movie or Plex TV Series agents cannot automatically download subtitles. Using Plex Web, go to the server settings. Find the “Agents” settings. For Movie, click on Plex Movie (Legacy). Under that you should see OpenSubtitle listed. Enable it. Click on th gear icon to the far right to customize it for yourself. Do the same for TV Shows under TheTVDB. Now when you add content to your library, Plex will automatically look for subtitles.

Getting these to automatically play work the same way if you added your own subtitles. Its based on your language settings.

Hello @anon18523487 , any news about this feature? Changing the language everytime we decide to watch a movie or a tv show with our daughter is veeery annoying. :persevere:

No, these new changes to allow different language choices has not been implemented yet.

Typical Plex reaction. It’s been almost a year and nothing has been done to fix this. What am I (and others) paying you guys for? I’m done.

You’re right, we should.
But I paid for the lifetime subscription and demand to be heard. From now on my life mission will be to keep this thread open, just to show the world how much Plex cares about his paying customers.
