I just looked and noticed a new update was available on the plex site. Has anyone tried it and is there anything I should do prior to installing it. The is a guy on Facebook saying after installing he can’t get it to see his media. TIA

Or should I say, “if it ain’t broke…”

Which version of PMS are you currently using ?
Which NAS and DSM version are you using ?

Given this is a holiday season, I wouldn’t risk updating anything unless you know you have the skills to fix it.

FWIW, Facebook isn’t “Official Plex forums” so please do keep that in mind you are likely missing a lot of the details.

Am currently running 1.29.2.6364 on my Synology DS920+. I wasn’t planning on updating until way after the holidays. was just wondering if it’s worth it and told the guy to use the one on plex’s site and not the synology one.

Correct:

  1. 1.29.2 - for now (we’re working on a TrueHD audio problem)
  2. Never use Synology’s 1.21.0.3744 (it was for beta DSM 7 only)

I spent time last night working with the engineer on finding the root failure with TrueHD.

I got it down pretty close. The engineer will now continue the rest of the way
