I had a Synology DS1520+ WITH Plex Media Server installed and working perfectly, V 1.41.2.9200-70009200.
After DSM Update from 7.2.1 to 7.2.2 Plex stopped. It says Plex version is not compatible and to install 1.41.0.8911.
In the information page on DSM regarding Plex it says newest online version is 1.40.4.8840.72008840.
No matter which version it says I should use objects lieu of 1.41.2.9200-70009200, they are older and you cannot rollback.
I migrated after Synology discontinued support for Video Station and now i have nothing.
I suspect I can rollback by uninstalling Plex, then installing older version but I don’t want to lose all the work/settings in DSM & Plex.
The update process for Plex/DSM is quite convoluted and I’m not a programmer. It is unlike other apps that are updated automatically and must be done manually.
Can anyone shed light, provide assistance or direction to resolving this issue?
Synology have changed the package format for apps quite significantly with the release of DSM 7.2.2. There’s a dedicated download of the PMS software for that version of DSM (or newer/future ones).
I actually tried that twice last night but it actually produced an earlier version. This time it actually was version 1.41.2.9200-70009200 same as I had installed already but it allowed me to reinstall and it worked.
Thanks again. Still waiting on Synology. Tried them fist and got an AI answer telling me Video Station was discontinued.
