LCD Display Tontec 3.5 with Rasplex.

Hi!

I bought this Tontec 3.5 screen.

There is some manipulation to enabled it as primary screen. The HDMI screen is primary so I have to switch it.

The problem is that the tutorial given in the box is for Raspbian and there are some changes.

I have to change config.txt. The file wasn’t in the same folder but I find it.

So, i have to change /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/99-fbturbo.conf and for now I didn’t find it.

In this file, I have to change the primary screen.

How can i find this file ? I try a FIND command but it doesn’t exist.

Anybody find a solution for Rasplex and a LCD display ?

Is that possible to install a Plex client on Raspbian ? Maybe it will be more easy for me ?

Thanks a lot.

Rasplex has no X environment, that why you can’t find it, it doesn’t need it.

There are some old posts relating to touchscreen so, no one has got one working as far as I can remember, Rasplex doesn’t support touch, but the screen should work, suggest searching this section for ‘touchscreen’.

There is no Plex client the runs under Raspbian.

Regards

Ok. Thank you for your answer.

The touchscreen function is not a priority. I have search for many solution to have the LCD display working with Rasplex but I don’t find it yet. The screen works on Raspbian but there isn’t Plex client on it.

If anybody have a solution for this : Plex client on Raspberry + LCD screen working, I take it !

Thanks.

Is this tutoral can be a base to do that ?

github.com/RasPlex/RasPlex/wiki/GPIO-LCD

No, that is for the small, text only displays, usually one or two lines.

That particular article is now a few years old and is probably not relevant anymore.

OK, thank you.

So, for now there is no solution to use Rasplex or anything similar Plex client with a LCD screen on Raspberry Pi.

I have to be patient.

Just thinking about this would seem that an LCD screen with an HDMI port should work. Something like this ?

The only worry I would have is whether Rasplex would auto detect the display resolution. I don’t know if there is a way to force Rasplex to use the displays native resolution. Ned probably knows

I’m utilizing the 7" official pi touchscreen, running Plex Media Player v1.1.1 (the new 1.1.2 broke the touch feature, so I reverted). It works flawlessly! I tried for days to get rasplex to work with my touchscreen and eventually gave up, and I’m happy I made the switch.

So it doesn’t work in PMP either.
