Plex always merges completely different videos into one video with multiple versions without authorization, but I don’t need to play multiple versions, my videos are completely different. Plex’s behavior has seriously affected me. I have to change the names of the videos that are clearly in the same series to completely different names, and the sorting will also become chaotic. I hope that at least add a feature that allows me to adjust whether to classify videos as multiple versions of the same video. Or at least let me cancel the wrong merge.
My video is not a traditional TV program that is distinguished by a season or episode (I hope it is displayed like a TV program), but distinguish between morning and evening performances on the same day.
It means that I use the date to name but my video has different version on the same day. And they are merged.
Can you be a bit more specific as for what type of library you’re using (incl. its agent from Manage Library > Edit… → Advanced > Agent) and an actual example of that naming schema of yours?
If you deviate from the official naming schema, there’s always a chance that’ll mess up your library’s content…
That being said… Plex already has an option to split items that were accidentally merged. The Split Apart option is available in the context menu of merged movies and on the show-level for TV Show based media.
