LG C8 - can you force Plex to transcode audio to AC3 rather than AAC?

With my current setup I have a Synology NAS (DS218j) running Plex Media Server which streams media to my LG C8 TV, running the LG WebOS Plex client. If I play films with DTS audio, and uncheck DTS in the LG Plex client audio settings the audio will then be transcoded to AAC 5.1 according to the Plex logs. Is there anyway to force Plex to transcode to AC3 rather than AAC?

Reason I ask is that I plan to get a Sonos Beam, which doesn’t support DTS (or AAC as far as I’m aware), and will downmix to stereo if this type of audio is received. So ideally I’d like Plex to transcode DTS to AC3.

I’ve read in a couple of places that the LG C8 can covert AAC 5.1 to AC3 5.1 (Dolby) , I assume by setting the ARC digital sound output to ‘Dolby Digital’ in the LG audio settings. However, this seems inefficient with the audio being converted twice.

Does anyone have any experience with the above? Would be much appreciated before I pull the trigger on the Sonos.

Have you looked at Xmedia Recode, it can re code your audio and pas thru your Video so it not intensive. Have the compatiable file from the start , I would see as your best bet.
