I just removed the early acres because of the following blocking bugs

  1. Critical: won’t play 4K hdr direct play content. Even with setting as original it does transcoding to 1080p. After removing early access it works again.
  2. High: LG magic remote doesn’t allow selection when in “mouse” selection. Have to use the arrow keys then select.

That’s a known limitation at the moment… Apparently a future preview version will fix it:

It looks pretty i’ll say that for it, but the basic functionality of using the Magic Remote to select an item not working kinda tells me it should’t have been released as yet.

It’s not “released” yet. That’s literally what “beta” means.

Did you notice it’s a Opt in situation, so if you go to the left menu Avatar the Old settings appear and you can opt out from there.

Beta, Early release, Preview, it all means much the same. I think it a fair insight of what it may become and can’t wait till it’s all sorted.

Yes I did notice and i’ve already opted out - the ability to use the magic remote is fairly much a basic fundamental of using Plex on a WebOS TV, especially the enter (or whatever it is) button, releasing a beta without even that basic function just seems a little bit like premature release… so to speak

Not sure what you mean, the magic remote does work. It’s just and pointer and scroll / wheel awaiting a update. I have found it relatively easy to work around, not ideal but staying in touch of good things to come. The arrow keys work fine/ 5 way mode and Back allows even more. The positives out way the negatives at this point.

The Filter “unplayed” isnt correctly working for me. It shows 4 already watched series and only 1 unwatched (instead of 3).

How do we go back to the old one for LG I clicked to test the new one and yesterday there was a option to go back that’s now disappeared I looked in setting and it’s disappeared need to go back to old one as to many bugs in this new one

If you wish to opt out, go to left menu Avatar at the top and click. Here you find a opt out option.

I would like to know what bugs you have found. As I find it a reasonable Preview with one update already.

I’m having trouble opting back too (LG Smart TV). There is no option under the left menu avatar to Opt Out. I’ve even tried deleting the app and reinstalling the earlier version, but it still defaults to this beta.
This looks like it will be good but far too many bugs at the present time.
Any suggestions on how to get back to the current stable version?

This is my setup:
WAN

PC running plex server 192.168.1.1

(router has to be on “router-mode” rather than “AP-mode”, to maintain full gigabit internet speed), therefore this setup.

Manual server 192.168.18.2 in current version -> Plex finds server nearby
Manual server 192.168.18.2 in early access -> can’t find server

No idea why, but therefore I switched back.

i managed to do it log out on the app then turn of tv turn back on log in should be back to the old version

Thank you very much for the suggestion. I tried it with no luck!
Maybe I will sign out, delete the app, reinstall the app and try again.
It’s very frustrating :frowning:

WebOS. I wish that when jumping back in to the Plex app, the Plex app would take you back to either the video you were playing or the Home screen. When watching a TV Show it takes you to the season selection instead and it defaults to the episode you manually selected to play. So if I manually selected say season 2 episode 7, but I have been watching several episodes and I am now in season 3 episode 4, then when opening the Plex again after watching TV or Netflix, I am not taken to season 3 episode 4. I am taken back to season 2 episode 7.

And like several other people, I wish that the LG Magic Remote would work in mouse mode.

I am having the same problem with my LG TV. All of a sudden early access mode doesn’t find my local server through plex link or static ip address. Works perfectly in the old mode. Have to switch back now.
Any fix for this yet please?

I’m on an LG 65C8PUA, Plex v2.2.0 and I’ve noticed a few smallish bugs:

  1. This was mentioned already, but when viewing a library of shows or movies, the Unplayed filter doesn’t work properly. It seems to be filtering out both played and unplayed shows.
  2. When you enter back into a season of a show that you’ve been watching, it used to focus on the next unplayed episode, but now it always focuses on the first episode.
  3. When an episode ends and the next episode countdown begins, backing out of the countdown will place the focus on the previous episode instead of the next one.

Trailers won’t play in early access.

in the new early access i dont have subtitles options other than English and i dont have option to load it before playing.
