I have a problem when trying to view 5.1 content while having Apple AirPods connected via Bluetooth. If there is 5.1 content, then that direct-plays and the app doesn’t do Stereo down mix.
It sounds like the center channel is being mapped to the left ear, the surround channel to the right ear and the other channels are missing. If I force converting to 3 Mbps that seems to force the Plex server to do the down mixing to 2 channels and then the stereo audio sounds correct.
I tried disabling support for surround sound in the app, but that does not change anything. Also I shouldn’t have to do that because my TV setup supports 5.1 via HDMI.
For comparison the Netflix app does the switch to 2 channel output for BT headphones correctly.
