LG TV Plex Update with new UI but nothing will play

Hi All

I’ve turned on my LG C8 TV and noticed the app has been updated with a new UI. Unfortunately, nothing will not play - instead I get an error message that it’s incompatible (Error Code h4 / Not supported). Absolutely nothing will play. No other updates/changes and things play fine on my phone & laptop.

I’ve deleted and reinstalled the Plex app, with no luck.

Is anyone else having this issue, and any idea how to correct?

Have you tried updating to the latest server release?

I currently have the latest version and my LG won’t play any videos either.

What server version exactly?

What does “won’t play any videos either” mean precisely? Any error codes or messages? Other symptoms you can describe?

Server Version 1.16.2.1321, also experiencing the same exact issue on LG C8 with the new layout on the client app, same H4 error/not supported. Just chiming in.

My plex client hangs directly after starting it.

I found a solution that works for me:
Browse to your plex server page (e.g. with pc) and remove the LG TV from the client list.
Then start the plex client from your TV, validate the new code and you’re done.
