LG WebOS 1 TV (2014): Sometimes getting update prompt to new v5.2.1 of Plex client

Have been running Plex client v3.13.28 on an ancient LG TV with WebOS 1.4.0 [55UB8500 - US model year 2014] that still works reasonably well
I’ve read that WebOS 1 & 2 are out of Plex support so I was surprised that recently, when I started the Plex client, it would “sometimes”* start the LG Store and show an update to Plex v5.2.1 (07/31/2024). On this page, I can click ‘UPDATE’ to get a secondary prompt where I get the options ‘LAUNCH’ and ‘UPDATE’ - so far I have just clicked ‘LAUNCH’ to skip the update and everything is then as before i.e. ok

Was wondering why I get this update page (has latest Plex client update been published with the wrong WebOS version range specified? e.g. should only be for 3+) & if any brave soul has selected it on a WebOS 1 TV - don’t want to break anything by upgrading, but getting this prompt is slightly annoying…

* I said “sometimes” as I don’t always get the upgrade option when I run Plex on TV. From playing around, if I switch on TV and run Plex I don’t get it…however, if I switch on TV, run it’s YouTube app, then run Plex I do usually get given this Plex upgrade page [maybe I’ve only recently started doing this sequence so that’s why I’ve only now been getting the upgrade option?]. Go figure

TIA
M
