Plex Media Server Logs_2024-02-08_11-17-32.zip (1.4 MB)

Hello!

I just downloaded Plex on a computer that’s never had Plex before and I’m running into an issue with the LG Plex app. I was able to figure out the local web address to load the WebOS Plex app (https://app.plex.tv/tv-v5-webos/) and performed these tests locally on the same machine as the server since the error was the same.

I included the server logs above and also turned on reporting logs to the server from the player app. Everything should be in there, but for good measure, this is the error that I see in the logs:

[Req#2aa] [Plex for LG] [natew80:4sokg8pgd13bg2u9tcw2dmt8] [Unhandled Rejection]: Failed to navigate: Did you call 'registerScreen' for PreplayScreen 95122/t/<@https://app.plex.tv/tv-v5-webos/packages_app_index_ts-packages_app_images_avatar-plex_png-packages_app_images_cast-item-outli-728f7d.js:2:1640265 l@https://app.plex.tv/tv-v5-webos/packages_app_index_ts-packages_app_images_avatar-plex_png-packages_app_images_cast-item-outli-728f7d.js:2:1633634 95122/ju/u/o._invoke@https://app.plex.tv/tv-v5-webos/packages_app_index_ts-packages_app_images_avatar-plex_png-packages_app_images_cast-item-outli-728f7d.js:2:1633388 95122/ju/_/</<@https://app.plex.tv/tv-v5-webos/packages_app_index_ts-packages_app_images_avatar-plex_png-packages_app_images_cast-item-outli-728f7d.js:2:1633997 n@https://app.plex.tv/tv-v5-webos/:26:146358 s@https://app.plex.tv/tv-v5-webos/:26:146562

Repro steps:

  1. Start server with a library of movies (I have one movie currently, since I just started)
  2. Connect to the server with an LG TV (I have the LG CX) or go to https://app.plex.tv/tv-v5-webos/ on the same machine as the server.
  3. Navigate to your movies
  4. Open a movie
  5. Step #4 fails and you can’t open the landing page for the movie. It simply stays at the movie navigation screen.
  6. (To drive home the point) Go to Plex Movies
  7. Open a movie
  8. Step #7 will fail with the same or similar error as trying to open a movie in the user’s Plex library.

Ultimately, you can’t play any movie because of this bug. I noticed that live TV worked perfectly fine on the LG app.

I don’t see this error when accessing Plex through the Desktop web app (https://app.plex.tv/desktop/)

Let me know if you need any other logs or information to help debug this error. Thanks!
Nathaniel

I’m unable to reproduce, but this is likely a caching issue, I’ve cleared the cache on our end, but you may need to power cycle the TV to get past any device-level caching.

I think you’re right! I had tried restarting the TV and the server app on my computer, but I hadn’t tried restarting the computer itself. Restarting my computer seems to have fixed the issue, and now streaming to my LG TV seems to be working.

Thanks Markus!

Not sure if related but I had a very strange and similar issue yesterday evening. 2 different LG TVs using the Plex client app stopped being able to play any movie, but TV boxsets, music and photos were fine. Rebooted Windows server and both TVs didn’t fix it.
It was as if I couldn’t actually ‘click’ on any movie to start playback.
Turned everything off and left it an hour, came back and all working fine then.
Windows and Android clients were working fine during the whole event.
