Content appears fine on the web app, Android App and desktop app but NOT on the LG WebOS app. For example Episode 1-8 show fine, as does 10 but 9 and 11 do not show up. They appear on the Home screen as recently added but when you select them you are directed to the season page but not showing these episodes. If i use the webapp I can cast the missing episodes to the LG player.
I have removed and reinstalled the LG webOS app with no improvement.
Server has now been updated to 1.22.2.4282-a97b03fad
Plex for LG - 5.12.2 on WebOS 4.3.0
Doubt its a file name issue as they are renamed automatically by SONARR and this has worked flawlessly for 2 years. Additionally i expect that would effect the other app players but the same server using an android app or the desktop app are unaffected. Only the LG plex app has the issue.
Thanks for your input. I am hoping the latest plex server update will resolve the strange behaviour.
These mentioned Episodes, are they mp4.? Have you checked the Metadata tags.
As for not effecting the other clients, is certainly an odd one. Myself I tend to use mkv containers exclusively and this may or may not be the reason, I do not have this problem. I do remember a while ago an old show with some avi files did produce odd behaviour.
A mix of MKV and MP4. No rhyme or reason to it. Once casted to the LG app from the desktop app the episode can then be selected and plays fine natively on the LG app. Its so bizarre!
I can confirm this issue on three different LG TVs. webOS 4.0 and 4.5
The format of the TV show does not matter.
New episode might show on deck but when selected I am entered into the season folder where it is missing.
I can only then play the last episode displayed which I have already seen and advance (play next) to the new episode which is there and plays fine. Very annoying!
Logging out and back in refreshes the list and fixes the issue.
So I assume it has something to do with refreshing the page displaying the episodes.
Started happening with some of the later refreshes of the app.
I have witnessed this issue and it seems to happen when adding content to server while LG client is active. The LG client will not show the new Eps in TV library. Restart of LG client and all is well again.
It just seems like the refresh of the window is not happening when you are thrown into the season view. At least on my TV you can see the little windows twice before they disappear. Further it seems that the episode is actually selected because if you press start it will play that episode… So for me there is something wrong in the app itself and nothing to do with the server.
I’ve tried “restarting” the client (have tv set to properly shut down), but it doesn’t help. I have updated the server and the episodes appeared, hope future ones appear as well…
Same for me on Samsung TV, previously navigating around refreshes whatever you’re navigating to, but that has been broken for a couple months now.
I’ve seen all kinds of strange inconsistent things as a result of this. The best I can describe it is it seems that when the app is running it will update where you navigate to only once until you quit the app. E.g. new episode gets added and is not visible in Home (recently added), but is visible when you go to Series. Another episode gets added and now this trick doesn’t work anymore, you’ll have to quit the app to get everything to refresh.
And recently the other inconsistency I experienced is a new episode is visible in recently added and instantly playable from there, but opening the details gets you to the season where the episode is strangely missing. Quitting the app does not fix this and this problem is not visible in the iOS or web app.
I also noticed missing episodes on the season pages in the LG app. The home screen shows a new episode but when I click it the shown season is missing the exact episode I just clicked.
This doesn’t happen for all shows. And it also isn’t consistent which shows it affects.
My workaround is to use the “play next episode” button on the show page. That button starts the correct episode even if it’s missing on the season page.
My fix for missing episodes is just HOLD “OK” button on new episode and from menu choose - PLAY.
This bug is more and more annoying. Yesterday even after exit app and relaunch it it still not refres episode list. This is ridiculous how they not even care.
It seems that the newest version has somewhat fixed part of this at least on my LG. I wonder whether they already had it in the bug list… Wondering whether the more recent reports are based on the up to date version?
