Plex Media Server Logs_2022-07-13_00-56-13.zip (5.4 MB)
A few months ago I got a new router, going from an Asus RT-AC66U to a Linksys MX5500 mesh system, and my media libraries disappeared from all devices, namely Nvidia Shields and Amazon Firesticks, after years of using Plex without issue. When I log into Plex on a device (Nvidia Shield) it shows the PC server name in the top left with an exclamation mark (!) inside a triangle. I assume this is an error but it doesn’t give any indication what it means. When selected, my content doesn’t appear.
I assumed it was the new router but don’t know enough about networks to fix the problem. Instead, I tried Jellyfin and it worked fine on all devices for months. Now, suddenly, I can’t connect to Jellyfin on any anything either. So, I reinstalled Plex server on my PC to give it another try and of course the libraries are still not available on other devices.
I’ve tried reinstalling the app, logging in and out, reinstalling/updating the server, removing/re-adding the libraries, and adding exceptions for Plex in Avast. I’ve also tried tweaking some settings in Plex to no avail (because I don’t know what I’m doing). The content is visible in the browser on the PC with Plex installed, though. The PC is running Windows 10.
I’ve read others talk about port forwarding, etc., but never with an explanation of how to do it. I assume there is a setting that needs to be changed but I have no idea what/where it is.
Can anyone assist? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
